New Year's Day Skate Against Torture
Iceskating to Shut down the CIA’s Travel Agent
South Bay Mobilization, Act Against Torture, and other local organizations invited the public to Skate Against Torture — and against Jeppesen — on Monday, January 1st. Jeppesen is a San Jose company that profits from illegal kidnappings and torture. The company handles the logistics for the CIA’s torture flights. Jeppesen is a sponsor of the Holiday Ice Rink and displays its banner on the rink.
People Skated Against Torture from 12-2pm at the Holiday Ice Rink, next to the Museum of Art at 110 S. Market St. in downtown San José. Participants wore orange to symbolize opposition to the barbaric, illegal, and immoral practice of torture by the U.S. government. Photos: 1 | 2
