The songs of famed "dust-bowl" and labor folksinger Woody Guthrie, introduced and sung by Michael Sands, will be featured at the Annual Blueberry Blintz Brunch, a fund raiser for the People's Weekly World newspaper, on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 4774 Marlborough Way, Carmichael. The event will take place from 10 am until noon.
Guthrie wrote a column called "Woody Sez" in 1939 and 1940 in the Daily Worker and People's World newspapers, forerunners of the People's Weekly World.
Suggested donation for the brunch is $10, but no one will be turned away. For information and directions to the event, please call (916) 481-5566.
