Homeless people in Golden Gate Park are being harassed

taken by Department of Public
Works.

Even though there are a thousand Homeless people living in Golden Gate Park and between 3,500 and 4,500 Homeless people living in San Francisco, Mayor Newsom says that a 1,000 shelter beds are "adequate housing," for the homeless

And "everyone else is just refusing shelter"

Mayor Newsom is saying that those who refuse shelter, those not receiving these services are just not wanting these services. However as one of a 100-200
Homeless College students I pointed out that according to the US Conference on Hunger and Homelessness, Mayor Newsom himself initiated states that only 12% of
homeless are drug addicted or have mental illness nationwide, and that the majority of individuals who are homeless fall under the category of FAMILIES with CHILDREN.

Over half of those are single women with children are running away from
domestic abuse by their husband or family.

Which raises the question: "Are they scapegoatinghomeless with stereotypes of junkie and thief. (Like myself having been on my own, running out of an
abusive family as soon as I could. Unable to get a job and too young to go into shelter. However it was legal that my mother could just kick me out because at 17 I was legally on my own).

So after job corps I tried to get into college. "Sorry you have to report your parents income." But I was homeless. My parents didn't take care of me. "Doesn't mean anything... you have to be 24 to legally be separated as far as income".

Over200 young people like myself sleep in Golden Gate Park every night. Over 800people sleep in their R.v.'s and in their cars and inside the park. Asking for decent shelter for the Homeless disabled, for the Homeless families of this city WHO WE HAVE TO PROTECT.

Like 94 year old Bessie, with her two 57 amd 59 yr. disabled sons battling the city after speaking out against conditions in the city. Having their car towed immediately after parking on two occasions where they were told to by city employees

Please send us your words of support and Call Mayor Newson and tell him to stop taking critical survival gear from homeless who aren't appropriately sheltered.
His obvious solution is to drive them out of the city after allowing us to be exploited.

I'll show you pictures. I have evidence. I am even able to show you personally, or to anyone you sent my way. You can see some of it on my myspace account.

Circumstance, Demographics and economic position have less to do with a persons character than an ant in the manufacture of Chocolate. However, like the ant they are always trying to get the chocolate."
