Update for the "Crosses in Lafayette"
On Monday November 27th a meeting was held in Lafayette so the community could voice it's concerns over the crosses and sign that sit on a hillside across from the Bart station on Deer Hill road.
The Lafayette City government concluded that the content of the signs is not illegal, but that the large sign did not adhere to their local laws regarding the size limit of roadside signs. The crosses do not violate any laws or rules.
As of December 3rd the big sign remained and the display seems to be growing.
Remedies for the big sign are to apply for a sign permit, make it smaller or remove it...

Glad to hear the crosses can stay. If you have to knuckle under to the sign size, why not just settle for the number of dead, the number sign being exactly the max size you are given? The crosses and that figure say it all.
