Labor Picket Line at Macy's

Date:
Friday, November 24, 2006
Time:
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Location Details:
Join Labor Picket Line for Op.Engineers No. 39 at Macy's Union Square and the 51 other Macy's in Northern California & Reno. Macy's Union Square should be the biggest picketline; other stores also have pickets.

Macy's last contract offer to the Operating Engineers, the folks who maintain the lights, heat and other physical fixtures, was less than HALF of the current cost of living per the US Dept of Labor. Meanwhile, Macy's sales are $17.813 Billion, a 39% increase over last year. Macy's is one of the most financially profitable department stores in the US. Join the picket line. Bring your family. Bring union banners. We cannot allow these continual attacks on labor to continue if we are to survive. We must teach everyone that picketlines mean don't cross!
