Maxine Hong Kingston, author of the award-winning China Men and The Woman Warrior, will appear at BookShop West Portal, Tuesday, December 5, at 7 p.m. The acclaimed writer will introduce a new volume of essays, Veterans of War, Veterans of Peace, in which she brings together the fiction, real-life narrative, and poetry of veterans and their families. Joining Kingston will be several contributors to the book, including a retired Army officer, a peace activist, and an advocate for civilian women who served during the Vietnam conflict.
