Berkeley Community Activist Seeks Your Vote!
Nasira S. Abdul-Aleem, seeks your vote to run for Commissioner of the Human Welfare Community Action Commission, in Berkeley!
When: Wednesday November 15, from 7 to 9pm.
Where: South Berkeley Senior Center;
2939 Ellis St. (at Ashby ) Berkeley, CA.
Statement of Nasira S. Abdul-Aleem;
The Human Welfare Community Action Commission is an advisor board for decisions regarding allocating funds for poor people; I would be a poor-person's rep.
My platform is that I would give priority to the homeless, the single-parent, both males and females, the low-income working man/woman, anyone who was trying to better their situation and could demonstrate responsible behavior, such as recovering drug addicts and alcoholic and people trying to put their lives back together after incarceration(s), and last but not least, low-income students who need housing to help them complete their studies.
My history is that I have always been a struggling poor person. While a student at UC Berkeley, I was single parenting four children. After graduation, I worked while my children were still growing up. When most of them graduated out of my home, I went to graduate school to become a psychotherapist, an objective which is very near completion at this time. I have a few more years of internship before I can apply for an a license, i.e., make "money" at it. Even then, it is my intention to serve poor people and the homeless. I am also interested in marriage counseling out of concern for the single-parent household, as regards the parent(s) and the children.
Please show up and offer me your support!
Thanks, Nasira S. Abdul-Aleem
Note: Only people living in district 3, in South Berkeley, can vote for Nasira : That is South Berkeley - from Dwight to Alcatraz (from South to North), but not below MLK except past Ashby, with MLK and Deacon to San Pablo making up the East/West perameters; says, Nasira S. Abdul-Aleem.
