In Gaza nearly 50 people including medical personnel, women and youth have already been killed in the past five days in Israel’s most recent offensive against Gaza with no end in sight.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert pledged Sunday to press ahead with Israel's offensive in northern Gaza, brushing off international calls to halt the aggression and the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza – inadequate electricity and medicine and dwindling supplies of water, food and other staples. Stand in solidarity with the more than two hundred women of Beit Hanoun who were shot at with live ammunition during a nonviolent demonstration on Friday, killing two women, and wounding numerous others. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6112386.stm)
Red Crescent Society volunteers throughout the West Bank took to the streets in nonviolent demonstrations on Sunday in Ramallah, Tulkarem, Jericho, Jenin and Nablus to honor the two 17-year-old paramedics who were killed in Beit Hanoun last week. Please join us in supporting the people of Gaza and in protesting the Israeli aggression against the people of Palestine!
This is an initiative of a number of individuals involved with different Palestine solidarity groups in the Bay Area including Women in Black, Break the Siege and the International Solidarity Movement.
