Calling all Dems and progressives!

Feeling like it's an exciting election year but you haven't done much aside from read about it?

Come to a last-minute Get-Out-the-Vote phonebanking party on Election Day!

We'll be calling likely Democratic voters in swing districts around the country to remind them to vote - that's it! Incredibly simple, incredibly easy, incredibly fun, incredibly likely to CHANGE THE ELECTION!

The details:

WHEN: Tuesday, 11/7/06, 7:30am - 9:30am (yeah, it's arse-early, but if you could miss a bit of sleep or a class or two to kick the Republicans out of Congress, wouldn't you? So let's do it!)

WHAT: A "Call for Change" party hosted by a recent college grad and organized through MoveOn.org, the biggest national progressive voter organization that doesn't suck! All phone lists and scripts are provided (it's easy), all you need to do is show up and bring a cell phone (you'll be on the phone less than an hour and a half, so it won't eat all your minutes).

WHERE: In West San Jose, off Winchester Blvd. between Payne and Williams, accessible by VTA Bus Route #60

• (How to get there by TRANSIT: the 60 Bus runs right through SCU's campus coming from the Caltrain station, using Benton to Monroe to Market to Winchester - take the bus that leaves the Caltrain station at 6:55am and you'll be here only a few minutes early, or if you're running late catch the 7:14am bus and you'll still be close to on time...then catch back up again on the 9:34am or the 10:04am and be back to SCU by 9:53am or 10:23am, respectively - easy!) • (How to get a RIDE: If there are a small bunch (i.e. 4 or less) of SCU students that want to join I can even come pick you up and give you a ride each way, but contact me in advance to work it out - the timing would be similar.)
  
• (How to get there by BIKE: It's an easy bicycle ride, about 15 minutes down Lincoln/Winchester.)
