... and the Restoration of Our Rights [OBBIOPPIROR]
Good Morning, East Bay! Two hundred outraged citizens attended a carnival-like rally on October 5 on Piedmont Ave. as part of the national protests organized by The World Can't Wait (worldcantwait.net), and now we're inviting you to join us for all or part of a cross-town march on Saturday, October 28. We'll start at the Grand-Lake Theater and walk all the way to Berkeley BART to protest this administration and particularly the passage of the Military Commissions Act of 2006: gutting the bill of rights, eliminating habeas corpus, and codifying torture as a legal interrogation technique.
Join us for the whole march, or any section you can (itinerary below). Meet us in your neighborhood, or begin with us early in Lakeshore. A fun time will be had by all, with breaks for impromptu speeches and coffee stops. Bring sunscreen (or umbrellas), placards, drums, and people (mostly yourself)! If you are headed to the ANSWER rally in San Francisco, you can hop on BART either at Rockridge around noon, or at Berkeley around 1:30 p.m.
The World Can't Wait -- help us to drive out the Bush Regime now!
