Thousands of Free Skool Winter Quarter 2006 calendars will be ready for distribution by next Wednesday, October 25! Therefore, we call a Distro Day, and invite you one and all to come and help out. We'll be at the Farmers Market around 4:00 PM, handing out calendars. Come to get copies of the calendar to give to your friends, hand out to strangers at the
Market and downtown, and leave in our awesome new DIY calendar boxes at community spaces throughout Santa Cruz county.
If you'd like to help distribute the Free Skool calendar but can't make it to Distro Day, please contact us as soon as you can at
freeskoolsc [at] riseup.net. We'd especially like to hit the south county, far east and west sides, the beach corridor, UCSC, and all the points in between.
Free Skool Winter Quarter runs November 1st to January 31st and offers a variety of classes in homes, community centers, and open spaces all over Santa Cruz. Classes include Zippity Urban Games, Don't Die- Again - Wild Foods, a plethora of Bike Church classes, Debris Shelter Campout, Tray Boarding, Polynesian Star Navigation, both Spanish 1 AND Spanish
Conversation every week, a Punk Sewing Circle, and more!
Free Skool is a decentralized, non-institutional project. In other words, you and I make it happen. We cannot wait for someone else to do everything for us. If you want to see Free Skool calendars distributed, a flyer for your class created and widely circulated, a Free Skool class about a subject you're interested in--you'll have to Do It Yourself. Free Skool does not exist outside of the individuals who put energy into it. We are all teachers, all students, and all organizers.
