Mumia Abu-Jamal is a wrongfully convicted prisoner who has been on Pennsylvania's death row since 1982. For background info check out http://www.freemumia.org . Mumia does political commentaries that you can listen to and read on http://www.prisonradio.org . Some of his work includes criticism of the exploitation of third world labor and prison labor as well as criticism of the capitalist system that oppresses people around the world.
Fair Trade is a new and growing economic system that pays workers a gauranteed minimum price for the crops that they produce or ensures that the workers are paid a living wage for the crafts that they produce. This allows the workers' quality of life to be much improved, they can send their kids to school and so on.
