Come hear about the time when “indie” filmmaking meant committed,
progressive, regional movies about ordinary people -- not two-picture
deals in Hollywood. You’ve all heard about the 70s in U.S. filmmaking,
the time of Lucas and Spielberg and all the other guys of that golden
time, making movies and breaking down the walls of the studios.
Now, hear the other side -- from Cine Manifest , a documentary intent
on telling all the truths about a radical moment in history that
tried to change society as much as movies. This is an amazing opportunity to
meet Judy Irola, a central figure in the utopian Cine Manifest film
collective. Irola is now a renowned cinematographer and Professor of
Cinematography at the University of Southern California.
Cine Manifest is having its world premiere at the Mill Valley Film
Festival and comes to UC Santa Cruz straight from that engagement.
Irola was the only woman member of this collective. Now, in a very
different day and age, she has tracked down the other members and
sought to understand their long-ago experiment.
SPEAKER BIO:
Judy Irola, ASC, is Conrad Hall Chair in Cinematography, USC
School of Cinema-Television. Head of the Cinematography track,
Irola has shot 14 feature films and many documentaries. Her films
include GOLD CUP (digital), EBAN AND CHARLEY (digital), EAT
YOUR HEART OUT, AN AMBUSH OF GHOSTS—winner Sundance
Festival Cinematography Award; NORTHERN LIGHTS—winner,
Camera D’or, Cannes Film Festival, and THE SETTLEMENT.
Director of Photography for the NBC series LIFESTORIES. Filmed
documentaries in Brazil, Jamaica, Cuba, France, Poland,
Mozambique, Kenya, the Soviet Union and throughout the U.S. Her
awards include a Kodak Vision Award, Locarno and Venice Film
Festivals.

Is there a possibility of putting a copy of the film in the McHenry library? I can't make it tonight, but I'd like to check it out sometime!
hi curious,
Here is the website for the film
http://cinemanifest.com
"Is there a possibility of putting a copy of the film in the McHenry library?"
This question was asked for you and the answer was, "No, the film is not currently in the library, but we will try to get a copy there soon." You can request that the library purchase a copy (give contact info for the film maker / distributor) or better yet, get a professor to request a copy be placed in the library.
You should also be able to get a copy via the website.
