Commemorating the Life of Che Guevara:
Che: A Revolutionary Hero
Historical report and video:
Almost forty years ago--on Oct. 8, 1967, Ernesto "Che" Guevara—one of the great revolutionaries in history—was captured in battle in the Bolivian jungle. This day is now known around the world as the "Day of the Heroic Guerilla." Che, along with Fidel Castro, leader of the Cuban revolution, was seen as a hero for the oppressed peoples of the world. Che's contributions to Cuba's revolution alone would have guaranteed him a revered place in history. But he, like other Cuban leaders, was dedicated to the liberation not only of Cuba, but of workers and peasants across Latin America and the rest of the world.
Join us for a report, video and discussion about Che's life and legacy.
