Rob los Ricos to Speak in Sacramento.

Saturday, September 30th 8PM 2837 36th Street in Sacramento (36th street and Broadway) at the Brickhouse.

Rob los Ricos, self proclaimed "one hit wonder anarchist rock star," just finished a 7 year prison sentence for hitting a cop with a rock at a Reclaim the Streets protest in Eugene, Oregon in 1999. He will be speaking on his experiences in prison, what it takes to make it through, and the scene in Eugene (pre and post prison), among other things.

There will also be 3 bands performing: The Beer Lords, Escapement, and War Elephant (psychosomatic is no longer playing).

The event will be located at 2837 Broadway at the Brickhouse in Sacramento. Music will begin at 8pm, and Rob will be speaking towards the end of the night. Admission is $5.00. The show is a benefit for Rob to help him get back on his feet after 7 years in prison.

I find it odd that this self-proclaimed "rock star" has been doing all these anarchist speaking engagements and not a one of these has had an independent report back on ANY imc...not from any of the times he spoke in Oregon, Seattle, or Calif...having read an interview he put out right after release which said we should not use terms such as "people of color," nor identify thusly (while simultaneously USING those EXACT TERMS IN HIS PROMO and having a visible POC identity and support therein), nor should we support "the movement" (again, the movement that made him into a rock star) and now seeing he supposedly talked in san fran on "patriarchy" when his knowledge about sexism and feminism is most DEFINITLEY scant at best, I gotta ask, what does this guy *say* at these things? It is oddly silent regarding report backs. Is he just not a dynamic speaker or is it what he is saying is conflicting, and not something we want to report back on? I am mystified at why he is getting so much promo for these engagements, yet once they happen, NOT A PEEP about how they went...Is this just some weird fictionalized rock star tour, like an Anarchist American Idol? Selling a name not substance? What *is* the substance from these events? I am very curious.

Any independent report backs out there, that are not inhouse, as in not posted by his manager, handler, etc....I would like to read them.

rather than complain that nobody else has done it. why dont you find out for yourself and see him speak, then write a reportback. it sounds like youve already got something against him, so a balanced article is probably out of the question, but regardless... complaining that nobody else has done it on a website that you are supposed to be your own media and write the stories you think should be coverend is a pointless rant.
