UNCONSTITUTIONAL: THE WAR ON OUR CIVIL LIBERTIES
Film Series on Reigning Lies
Films by Robert Greenwald
In this documentary, Robert Greenwald, executive producer, and Nonny de la Peña, writer and director, show us how our civil liberties and our freedoms have been trampled upon by the U.S. government since 9/11. The Patriot Act passed through Congress just 45 days after September 11 with virtually no debate. Since then, paranoia, fear, and racial profiling have led to gross infringements on freedom and democracy without strengthening national security. This film illuminates administration lies and the real victims of wrong-headed policies: the American people. It gives us the real story behind the Patriot Act and other administration policies by showing us the reality of some of those affected -- from law-abiding store clerks to U.S. Olympians unable to travel. Greenwald believes that the more we Americans understand what is at stake, and what has already been lost, the more determined we will become to protect our rights.
Humanist Hall is the only solar-powered movie theatre in the Bay Area
Before and after the films, everyone’s invited to indulge in our Humanist Tea House
$5 donations are accepted
