International Solidarity Movement
Dr. Paul Larudee is a former Fulbright-Hays lecturer to Lebanon and contracted U.S. government adviser to Saudi Arabia. He has been a volunteer with the International Solidarity Movement in the occupied West Bank and with LebanonSolidarity in Lebanon. After being denied entry to Israel in June, 2006, he spoke in Lebanon and Jordan on the topic of international solidarity with the Palestinian nonviolent resistance movement. He returned to the U.S. just as the Israeli invasion of Lebanon was beginning, but went back to Lebanon again almost immediately to help support a nonviolent resistance movement there, to participate in solidarity actions, and to witness and document the events.
Dr. Larudee will speak about his experiences, discuss the facts vs. the myths of events in Lebanon and Palestine, and present perspectives based upon 41 years of living in and visiting the region.
