Shailja Patel: Spoken word artist and poet whose work is on the Desi experience in the South Asian Diaspora. Her one-woman theater production, Migritude, has been widely acclaimed. (For more info see: http://www.shailja.com)
Subhendu Ghosh: A talk and multi-media presentation. Ghosh will speak about how music and drama have served to promote communal harmony and strengthen grassroots people's movements in India. He will discuss his own experience in founding and directing the Pratidhwani song group for the past 25 years, now with branches in several cities and towns in India. He will also sing and play some of the songs of Pratidhwani.
