THE TRUMAN SHOW at Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-In

This is perhaps one of the few brilliant things that Jim Carey has done. Funny, poignant, serious, romantic, and devastatingly metaphorical. Critics loved this movie, but Carey's fans didn't know what to make of it. It wasn't as funny, raunchy, or stupid as Carrey's other films, but for you and I, discerning GDI viewers, it's great.

Truman Burbank is the star of "The Truman Show," a 24-hour-a-day cultural TV phenomenon that broadcasts every aspect of his life -- live and in color -- without his knowledge or consent. When Truman discovers by happenstance that his life is a sham for public consumption, he makes a desperate escape bid. A metaphor for the desperate theatrics of our own lives. Hosted by Kris, Wes, and Grant.
