The militant struggle against the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (KORUS-FTA) continued in Seattle over the past week, with multiple protests involving a large delegation of labor, farmer, women's and student organizations from South Korea, the Washington state AFL-CIO, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Korean American, Filipino and other community organizations, the ANSWER Coalition and others.
Among those arrested at the KORUS-FTA talks in Seattle on Saturday, Sept. 9, was Sarah Sloan, the national staff coordinator of the ANSWER Coalition. Sarah was involved in helping to organize the many dynamic protest activities which took place over the past week in Seattle. For more information on the protests, go to the http://www.ANSWERcoalition.org website.
Sarah will be in the Bay Area for the next several weeks. She will be giving a reportback, including a power point presentation on both the current protests and historical background, at the San Francisco ANSWER meeting on Tuesday, September 12.
If you would like to arrange a report on this important struggle for your campus, community or organization, or to arrange an interview, respond to this email or call 415-821-6545.
