War, Occupation and the Arts of Resistance - Film Festival Part IV
505 E. Charleston Rd., Palo Alto
(Wheelchair accessible)
Resistance at Home: Millions of Americans have said “NO!” to the invasion and occupation of Iraq, and the larger Bush agenda of clampdowns on free speech, increased spying on citizens and the elimination of civil liberties.
Channels of War: The Media is the Military: The mainstream television networks have fanned the flames of war, and have profited from doing so. This program looks at how the corporate media has sanitized Americans’ field of vision.
The films are part of Deep Dish TV's 12-part series entitled Shocking and Awful: The Grassroots Response to War and Occupation. The series addresses the implications and consequences of the U.S.'s military actions in Iraq. The series also shows how people are mobilizing through art, actions, and international law. Each film is 30 minutes.
