The Santa Cruz
Trash Orchestra
sundown performance
Lighthouse Point, West Cliff Dr,
by the Lighthouse
Saturday, August 19th 5pm-7pm
We'll make percussion on tuned cans, hubcaps, and barrels, pieces of sheet metal. We'll practice signals, breaks, rhythms, and might even throw in some Balinese Monkey Chant.
Bring your courage, your passion, your righteous anger. Come with your recycled instruments already created. Drums are welcome, but be warned this ain't no jam session.

It is a participatory experience in which we will make music together on instruments we've made ourselves.

We'd like to see the Trash Orchestra blossom into a full fledged marching band with regular practices and appearances, requests from far and wide pouring in to make noise and celebration in places across the globe. We see everyone in the band becoming virtuosos of their own handmade musical creation. We are ambitious in our plans to conquer the world and make it a better place full of music and dancing and resistance. We're pretty serious about this, so you wanna join us? Wanna tell your all-too-serious musical friends about it?
