Friday August 18th, the Mid-summer Mystery Ride rides again! This week's theme is "Beyond Bike Dome," a post-apocalyptic (think Mad Max trilogy) journey through some intersting sites of urban decay in Santa Cruz. As always there will be awesome games, activities, and prizes! As always it's COMPLETELY FREE! The ride will meet downtown on Friday in front of Oneil's at the corner of Pacific Avenue and Cooper Street at 5:30pm, and leave at 6:00pm. Bring a bike, some friends, and hopefully a costume. Meet cool new people, see stuff you probably didn't know existed, and have some fun with your bike. There's no excuse since nothing else is happening at that time, and even if it is, it probably ain't free!
-Costume Suggestions: If you're not familiar with the Mad Max trilogy, watching any one of those movies is probably your best source for inspiration. Think leather jackets, football pads, motor-cycle/sports helmets, goggles, bandanas/rags, and chains.
-Other suggested stuff: bicycle lights, bicycle licenses, and a working knowledge of the California Vehicle Code as it pertains to bicycles.
Attached are PDF and JPEG flyer sheets that can be easily printed and copied. Feel free to reproduce and distribute them.
