85 Days to Stop Prop 85
Prop 85 would amend our
state constitution to prohibit young women from obtaining
abortion care without government-mandated parental notification.
With only 85 days to "re-defeat" Prop 85, there's no time to
waste.
state constitution to prohibit young women from obtaining

With only 85 days to "re-defeat" Prop 85, there's no time to
waste.
We have only 85 days to get the word out: Vote No on Proposition
85.
As a staunch supporter of reproductive freedom, I know you'll
understand the urgency of my email. Prop 85 would amend our
state constitution to prohibit young women from obtaining
abortion care without government-mandated parental notification.
With only 85 days to "re-defeat" Prop 85, there's no time to
waste.
Prop 85 is almost identical to last year's ballot initiative,
Prop 73, a dangerous and divisive ballot measure that NARAL
Pro-Choice California played an instrumental role in defeating.
It was your support last year that helped us reach California
voters with the truth about this initiative.
Now, we need your help to do it again. Please click here to
support our campaign against Prop 85.

Last year's fight took almost all our resources - and here we
are again, facing an even greater challenge. Well-financed
anti-choice forces are more organized on the ground, will soon
be on the airwaves, and are more determined to see Prop 85 pass.
So I'm asking you to do two things today:
Talk to your friends about voting NO on Prop 85 and explain why
it isn't right for California, and;
Give a symbolic gift to NARAL Pro-Choice California to show your
support and help us reach voters AGAIN through intensive
grassroots outreach. Between now and the election, just 25 cents
a day ($21.25), 50 cents a day ($42.50), or $1.00 a day
($85.00) will make a huge impact.

Here is some background information about Prop 85 that will help
you talk about the importance of safety when it comes to our
daughters and all California teens:
:: I hope my daughter would come to me if she got pregnant. But
if she or any other teen could not, for whatever reason, more
than anything else I want her to be safe. I want her to get good
medical care and counseling, not resort to drastic measures.
:: Many teens are afraid of disappointing their parents and will
go to great lengths to avoid it. And there are some teens that
may be in danger if a parent is notified. Sadly, not all
families are like ours. Some teens live with violence or neglect
and some teens are subject to sexual abuse. We cannot further
victimize them.
:: For these reasons, professional caregivers like the
California Medical Association, California Association of Family
Physicians, and the American Academy of Pediatrics all oppose
Prop 85.
:: The best way to protect teens is to give them the tools and
resources to prevent an unintended pregnancy in the first place.
:: Make no mistake, Prop 85 is just one piece of the deceptive
anti-choice strategy to chip away at our reproductive rights.
Just look at who is supporting the effort: Traditional Values
Coalition, Evangelicals for Social Action, and Right to Life
Central Valley. We cannot sit back and let them win.
We can stop Prop 85 in just 85 days like we defeated Prop 73
last year, but we cannot do this without you. I hope you will
agree that we must fight even harder this year. Your generous
gift of $21.25, $42.50, or $85.00 right now will help us
jump-start our campaign and reach as many California voters as
possible. http://prochoiceaction.org/ct/1pL6NL618X-M/
Thank you in advance for all that you continue to do to support
NARAL Pro-Choice California and the values of freedom and
privacy.
Best,
Amy Everitt
State Director
