Jewish Women In San Francisco Take Stand Against War In Lebanon
A large portion of the US Jewish community in the United States is opposed to war. While many of the right-wing groups that pretend to speak for all of us try to portray the US Jewish community as being supportive of the war in Lebanon, they do not speak for the majority of us.
At the August 12th anti-war protest in San Francisco, Women in Black carried antiwar signs and many others in the crowd held signs making it clear that they were Jewish and opposed Israel's actions.

Thank you women in black! It's important that more jewish men and women come out and protest this slaughter. Unfortunately, the zionists want to merge all jews with Israel. It's important to distinquish between jews and zionists. Not the same thing at all.
One of you fine women was taken away by ambulance after feeling ill during the demo. Please let us know how she is faring.

The word "Zionist" has very different meanig to different groups and many of the military resisters who refuse to fight in the West Bank and Gaza were self identfied "Zionists".

he has some personal issues with ANSWER that i think he mistakenly attributed to antiSemitism (but realy had more to do with the power of the hardline Marxist WWP in early ANSWER protests and their tendency to allow only speakers that benefitted their ideology)
But he definitely is a example of a self described Zionist willing to openly speak out against the war in Lebanon

I watch as those courageous women wage war on war, while I try to stop indentured servitude in the old slave age state of Alabama. I will be back in the bay area soon. Save me some Matzo Ball soup and keep up the good deeds..
