Silencing the Violence with Art in Action
The 6th annual Art in Action performance, Stop the Violence, took place in Santa Cruz on August 3rd.
25 youth artists, many from Oakland, performed hip hop, spoken word, original music, dance and theater. Original art and digital stories created during a 10-day leadership training were also shared.

On August 2nd, Art and Action co-founder and coordinator, Xiomara, called Free Radio Santa Cruz. Sage, an Art in Action participant from Washington D.C., spoke about some of her experiences at the 10 day Art and Action camp in Ben Lomond and recited a poem. (25:45 minutes)
