Departmnet 22 of SF Hall Of Justice, 850 Bryant street, San Francisco, CA. Judge McBride's courtroom.
On August 4th, Gabriel Meyers will begin his trial for being arrested at the 2005 anti-G8 solidarity demonstration in San Francisco. Gabe has been made a scapegoat by the government because of an attack on an SFPD officer at the same protest that has gone unsolved to this day. Gabe is not being charged with the attack on the police officer, but with the felony of attempted lynching: the removal of a person from police custody by means of force or riot. Mr. Meyers is being accused by the government of attempting to do this to himself by alledgedly saying 'help me' while being put in a suffocating chokehold by the partner of the beaten cop. A picture of Gabe in the chokehold was widely circulated on the internet after the demonstration. The picture can be viewed at http://www.indybay.org in the poilce state and anti-globalization/global justice sections.
Come out and support Gabriel Meyers throughout his trial beginning August 4th and tell the government that he is not a scapegoat to take their frustrations out on.
Bullies can't pick on someone when the whole schoolyard stands up!
Thank you for your solidarity and support. Hope to see everyone out!
