Bay Area Peace Lantern Ceremony
At this beautiful and moving annual event, decorate lantern shades, hear Japanese music and messages from the mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and watch floating of lanterns on the lagoon at dusk. Dedicated to remembering victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima (Aug. 6, 1945) and Nagasaki (Aug. 9), and all victims of war, and focused on thinking about the peaceful world we seek to create.
