~ Santa Cruz Independent Media Center Orientation

Sunday, June 11th

515 Broadway (near Ocean Street)

Starting at 7:00pm, Indymedia volunteers will facilitate an orientation to
Santa Cruz Indymedia and the global Indymedia network. We'll be talking
about how to post news, photos, video and audio to the site. We'll also
discuss things that go on behind the scenes, like how stories get made
into center column features. Depending on how many people are present, we
will transition into various working groups focused on keeping Santa Cruz
Indymedia active in the community this summer and into the fall.

Have you enjoyed spending time at Santa Cruz Indymedia and Indybay.org? Do
you appreciate it as a special tool for documenting local activism and
sharing event announcements? Would you like to know how the website works?
Have you thought about getting more involved? If so, then Sunday's
orientation is for you. Learn more about Santa Cruz Indymedia and how you
can help the website continue to be the useful project that it is.

If you are passionate about subjects covered, or not covered, on Santa
Cruz Indymedia, you are encouraged to come to Sunday's orientation. There
are no requirements as far as the amount of time you have to offer or
technical prerequisites. It's actually not that hard to post to or edit
the site, and we can teach you everything you need to know in a relatively
short time.

At Santa Cruz Indymedia's next orientation, we will explain what the site
is all about, how it does it, and how you can help out. If you would like
to get involved, at any level, come by and find out more!

Indymedia is a community project and needs your perspective, voice,
pictures and/or audio so that a variety of people are heard in our
community.
