Thank you Lt. Ehren Watada for standing up for international, US and
military law by refusing to deploy to Iraq in support of the ongoing
illegal war and occupation.

From the preemptive invasion based on deception, to the deaths of tens
of thousands of Iraqi civilians and nearly 2,500 U.S. troops, to the
infamous Abu Ghraib torture cells and the recent Haditha massacre,
no more evidence is required of how very wrong this war is. In light of
these facts, we appreciate your decision to now follow your conscience.

We agree with you Lt. Watada, it is past time for US forces to leave Iraq.
We salute your true leadership in these dark times, and believe that we can all learn
something from your courage.

Intial Call to Support Lt. Ehrin Watada

It is a good day to fight the Empire. Since the Bushed Rogue Regime launched an illegal & genocidal War of Aggression on the people of Iraq in 2003, both the soldiers and citizens of the USA have an obligation to oppose the Evil Empire's orders to kill Iraqis.

Humanity needs many more courageous soldiers like Lt. Watada!

My comment is regarding the leutenant, Ehren who has been collecting a paycheck from the United States government until it is time to serve this wonderful country and start earning his paycheck. I think he should be embarassed of his actions. Is he thinking about his men who are going to Irac and he is staying here. I think he is a coward and does not deserve another minute of air time.

It is kind of strange that this guy KNOWINGLY joined the military at an officer's level, yet he refuses to serve when he's called upon. Does he state why he joined in the first place? Was it to get money for college education or maybe he just like wearing a uniform?

In any event, he committed, so he should either serve and go to Iraq or go to jail, period.
The person who put the "Bush Regime" crap up there: You're an IDIOT. CONGRESS sends the country to war, not the president. How about you go back and look at the voting records... moron.

Also, MOST of the insurgents fighting and killing AMERICAN AND IRAQI civilians over there are Syrians and Iranians. Maybe if you served 14 months over there, or knew ANYTHING that wasn't fed to you by CNN, you'd understand that.

Jeff has no argument so he does what those who have no argument do: he makes up shit.

The majority of the fighters against the US and its collaboraters are Iraqi. So-called "foreign fighters"--as Americans in their breath-taking arrogance call them--comprise a small percentage of the insurgency. Even the US military concedes that this is true.

It is interesting that Watada joined the Army after the war in Iraq began and seemingly had no problem taking a paycheck from the Army for the last three years. After his unit was identified for deployment, he conveniently discovers his "moral objection" to the war. I believe we see a gross display of self service and disrespect to country and all service member.

This man swore to uphold the constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic...but when he got scared (after joining the military after Iraqi Freedom happened)....he kinda half swore! Apparently this person never completed Ranger training because "surrender" is not a Ranger word. All of a sudden this man is opposed to the war? The scary part is this commisioned officer was in charge of troops! If this man leads by example, he is basically telling his troops to run and quit! This man is a coward, whom should be tried under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and then AFTER found guilty, should concentrate on making big rocks into little rocks at Leavenworth! I am ashamed that this person ever served in my Army and hope that his cowardice will lead him down a long and miserable road!

Thank you Lt Watada for your courage to talk truth to power. As a Vietnam era Marine I can say how proud you make me feel. I wish more of us hadthe courage to speak truth to power when we were deployed in that illegal war. Thank you.

I support mr. watada. Peace is the only thing that works. He knows how wrong this is and he's following his conscience regardless of the consequenes. Next time they give a war, nobody should show up, or maybe Jeann Bush first...

What a courageous man!

So, were YOU there capturing and killing Iranians? I was. That's also where a HUGE majority of their weapons and equipment come from. (excluding the explosives, which they dig up from burried stashes left by the Iraqi army. Everything from satellite phones to mortor tubes to night vision pours across the NE border of Iraq on the backs of Iranians. How about you learn something before posting your nonsense.

I've been there and seen it. I'd be more than a little shocked if anybody of your caliber has. This Lt. Spineless character can't say it either.
by Angela Stevens
Lt. spineless? hah, that's funny... it's too sad that this man is trying to stand up for people like yourselves who have already experienced this place described as "hell" so you do not have return. I guess some are just too ignorant to see this... It is not Lt. Spineless you should be so revolted against, it is President Spineless who we should all be in disgust over. He doesn't care who goes there and dies leaving thousands of families without fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers... If it is such a courageous effort to go there and represent American Freedom, let's see him send his own children and see if they don't cower down and whither away to nothing... That is to me, spineless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Lt. Watada is in deed not a disgrace, but a hero. I support his every word. He is a messenger from God and will hopefully end this mess that our so called, president or leader, if you won't, cannot begin to grow enough you know what to do himself.
