Welcome Home Father Louie
Saturday (May 6) at 7:30 pm at the Church
Father Louis Vitale will talk about his experiences engaging in nonviolent civil disobedience at the School of the Americas at Fort Benning, Georgia, his time in prison, and recent School of the Americas Watch (SOAW)'s successes.
The Society's SOAW West, a part of our Social Justice Ministries, is co-sponsoring the celebration of Fr. Louie's return to the Bay Area. Speakers will include Reverend Kay Jorgensen; Medea Benjamin, Co-Founder, Global Exchange and Code Pink; Renee Saucedo, La Raza Centro Legal; and, Carlos Mauricio, School of the Americas Watch.
Join in this celebration of Louie's homecoming. Come sing songs of peace in English and Spanish! A reception will be held in the Chapel after the program.
The organizers suggest a donation of $15 - $100 for the evening. Funds raised will benefit the educational projects of the SOA Watch movement and the Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service. For more information contact Dolores Perez Priem at 387-2287.
