In Honor of Mother's Day, please join Code Pink Santa Cruz and the GI Rights Hotline, for a Rally and Action
On Friday May 12th, from 3-5 PM
At the Military Recruiting Center
2121 41st Avenue in Capitola
The sons and daughters of this country, and of Iraq, are continuing to die and be maimed for life every single day - meanwhile, our nation, led by lies and manipulation, sits on the brink of a massive assault next upon the people and country of Iran
Please take the time to Stand Up, Speak Out, and Be Counted!! - what better way is there to TRULY do homage to the mothers, the fathers, the grandmothers, the grandfathers, the children, the ancestors, and the unborn......
In Washington, DC from May 13th-14th, Code Pink National will be holding a continuous 24 hour vigil outside the White House - around the country, many solidarity actions are planned, including rallies, blockades, and other nonviolent civil disobedience
In Santa Cruz, we will hold a support rally on Friday May 12th, from 3-5 PM, at the Military Recruiting Center, 2121 41st Avenue - the action will take place on the public sidewalk along 41st Avenue outside the center - though some may choose to go inside the plaza to blockade and/or risk arrest, it is not a necessary part of the action
going toward the ocean on 41st Ave, the Recruiting Center is on the right hand side, between the frontage road next to Highway 1 and Clares Street, across from Master Car Wash
Visibility will be GREAT!, because many, many folks will be driving by to do, you know what, the "SH..." word
Bring signs, banners, flags, puppets, scrolls, displays - and, we will have extra for those who need them
Plan some street theater, or a rousing song - we will have a small sound system!
And please distribute this announcement widely!!
peace now!
