I marched in Toledo,Ohio for the immigrants rights out here where i am now. I ended up as a front page story in the columbus beacon newspaper. my family is made up of illegal immigrants who work like animals for less than fair pay. wHEN MANY OF MY OWN AMERICAN COUNTRY MAN AND WOMAN COLLECT GOVERMENT CHECKS AND SIT ON THEIR ASS. i AM A WHITE IRISH AMERICAN WOMAN. I have two 1/2 mexican children. And we had better take a look at the hard working people of this melting pot, instead of mistreating them and throwing them out of the country to fit a political scapegoat when a diversion is needed. Lets be fair and stop ripping apart families like mine. Angie Rowen-Cruz
Seriously, I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about that.
United States has one of the most lax immigration systems in THE WORLD.
I should know, my wife immigrated here from Monterrey Mexico 7 years ago!
By sneaking here illegally and then *demanding* rights you spit in the faces of those that came here legally and paid their dues the legal way. You may be the hardest working, most upright citizen in the world (um, except for illegally entering he US) but you cannot and should not DEMAND rights when you are here illegally. Work to change the law...work within the law...and don't be self righteous or surprised if you are caught breaking the law and suffer the consequences. I honor and respect those that are doing the above and I have no sympathy for those that DEMAND to be treated as honest citizens when, very simply, they are not.
Thank you for listening.
