15,000 March on May 1st for Immigrant Justice in Oakland
Oakland, California (May 1, 2006) - About 15,000 people marched through Oakland today as part of the national mobilization and boycott for immigrant justice. Marching seven miles from the 98th Avenue to the downtown Federal Building, dozens gathered at every block along International Boulevard to cheer on and join the growing river of humanity. Overwhelming Latino and dressed in white, marchers declared “Amnesty Now!”, “No Human Being is Illegal”, “Justice and Liberty for All!” among countless slogans and chants.
