Werkshop Museum art space - May '06 Calendar and Information
Here's some of the text from the calendar:
Playing In Sand Collective
The Playing in Sand Collectiv maintains two facilities in the old "Enterprise Ironworks" building on Squid Row Alley. Werkshop Museum provides a communal space for classes/workshops, presentation/discussion, and independent practice of the creative process. Harbored within is a permanent collection of local artwork, a supply of creative materials, and an infoshop with subversive zines and radical literature. The Galley is a trading post for completed projects, and a workshop for sewing/textiles and 3D construction. Attached to this street level space is a subterranean sound-lab for various audio endeavors. Combining regular scheduled classes throughout the week, and intensive weekend workshops, the Playing in Sand Collective offers opportunities to learn classical creative techniques, as well as sharing experimental approaches using salvaged materials.
The PiSC is happy to bring collective creative spaces tothe community, but we also need the community's support to keep them open and functioning. If you enjoy coming to classes and events hosted by the PiSC, or just appreciate what we are doing and would like to see these efforts continue to flourish, donations are accepted and appreciated.
