Dr. Vandana Shiva is a physicist, ecologist, activist, editor, and author. In India she has established Navdanya, a movement for biodiversity conservation and farmers' rights. She directs the Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Natural Resource Policy. She is author of numerous books and articles, including: Water Wars: Pollution, Profits and Privatization; Earth Democracy : Justice, Sustainability, and Peace; Monocultures of the Mind : Perspectives on Biodiversity and Biotechnology, and many others ! Getting to campus:
Directions: see http://www.ucsc.edu/about/directions.asp
- Map to Classroom Unit: http://maps.ucsc.edu/cmclassroomunit.html
Transportation: If possible, Carpool or take the Bus.
- Parking: Get a "N" permit ($2) at the parking kiosk at main entrance/base of campus. Park in the Hahn lot, walk to Classroom Unit 2.
What to do if you don't know your way: Stop by the parking kiosk! They are great about giving clear directions and letting you know exactly where it is safe to park!
Accessibility: The classroom unit is wheel chair accessible. Please contact us (tawn.kennedy@gmail.com) if you have any questions/ need accommodation.
