Students are forcibly removed from career expo

by a TG person
On April 14 2006 some students at San Francisco State University were forcibly removed from Careeer Expo, and subsequently banned from campus.

Several students expressed their dissatisfaction with the presence of military recruiters at a Career Expo held by San Francisco State University on April 14.
As a result they were forcibly removed from campus and were verbally instructed to not enter the campus or face arrest. This means they cannot go back to their dorms, or go to classes, or even fetch clothes, and if they do they can possibly get arrested.
I was told personally by the cops that if they went and talked to the Vice President of Student Affairs this could possibly be worked out.
The actions by the campus are not uncommon, but the campus should realize that if they did not provide a way or place for those students to express themselves effectively to the recruiters then the students can take it upon themselves to find a place to do it. The campus should have provided a spot in front of the career fair for those students to express themselves.
The students should realize that not everyone agrees with their beliefs and ideas.
Sergeant Odom from the Marine Corps says please don't discount the military as an option. It offers adventure, excitement and will open doors to future careers.

I was in the US Navy and enlisted right after High school and I have to admit it was the funnest and most adventurous move I ever made. Of course I didn't have to kill, BUT it was adventurous and it helped save my life by giving me some direction and confidence in my ability to do things right the first time.

goony looking cops. they have what used to be called a ''psycho'' look. bald ''grunchy'' expression. squealing voice. genetic overagressive primate stock in human pool. those arent ''police''. they are agressor animals that remind us not to have children so casually. those cops are too violent. the world isb poisoned by too much population and careless ''reproducing'' which results in goons like those ''cops''. who are these guys ''wives''. damaged women who shouldnt get within 3 miles of these violent rapists.
by late or timely?
The article above by a TG person says February 14th, but I am wondering if a TG person meant to say April 14th.

Geez I can't believe I put down the wrong date.
by militarism is militarism
Fun and adventure at whose expense??
Just because you did not shoot someone, doesn't mean you are free from responsibility of being part of the largest military machine on earth, which kills and oppresses constantly for control.
And I thought I would mention that joining the military is not serving your country either. WAKE UP! THIS MACHINE IS KILLING THE PLANET.
by solidarity (pass it on!)
********ACTION ALERT: PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY!!!*********

Today students at SFSU held a protest against the presence of military
recruiters at the career fair. Some students were chanting and holding
up signs and some were speaking with the recruiters.

10 students have been cited by campus police for 'disrupting campus
activities' and suspended from the campus for 7-14 days.

This violation of the free speech of students at SFSU is outrageous!
Call or email President Corrigan and demand that the 10 students
suspended today be allowed back on campus!

My experience in the Navy.
During a cruise under full steam an engine blows up in Engineroom #1. Fire is everywhere and there was no air to breathe.
I made it out, BUT two of my shipmates were passed out amongst the thick black smoke. While in the safe area Cheif Zhang says there are two bodies in that engineroom. Someone needs to save them. I volunteered.
I saved those mens lives, BUT they were black. After that all my white shipmates admonished me and threathened my life for saving black men.
Thats why I only stayed in for six years and did not re-enlist. The armed forces are highly racist and they need people who are not. If you a racist in California then you don't fit in. Thats why this is the perfect place for them to be recruiting. The armed forces will recruit in the south because southerners will fight. Thats what needs to end recruiting southerners.
Thats why our Marines, National Guard and US ARmy are having such a hard time dealing with Iraqi insurgents. The insurgents are the people our government and armed forces have pissed off. Terrorists make demands. Insurgents are killing and blowing things up, and NOT making demands. Only kidnappers are making demands in Iraq.
So please stop and think. If you don't want our country fighting wars then enlist and speak out from within, JUST LIKE THE GENERALS. (speaking of rift between generals and rumsfeld.)
Thats why I don't qualify as a Navy Brat,,,,, slick,

Apparently the school held some sort of press conference, and all charges and bans were lifted on the students who were initially removed from the Career Expo. All charges were dropped.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
