by Jeff Paterson, Not in Our Name (jeff [at] paterson.net)
Oakland, California (March 27, 2006) - Fernando Suarez del Solar, father of one of the first US soldiers killed in the Iraq war, and Iraq War military resisters Pablo Paredes and Camilo Mejia lead their “coalition of the willing” into the last day of their 241 mile march for peace that started on March 12 in Tijuana, Mexico.

Stepping off at Fruitvale BART, marchers made their way to Laney College after visiting a half dozen elementary and high schools along the way. At school after school, teachers brought out hundreds of students to hear Fernando speak of the loss of his son to the unjust Iraq War, and why Pablo and Camilo refused to fight while in the military. After lunch and a rally at Laney, marchers took BART to San Francisco for the final few miles of their very long trek.

Thanks Jeff, the faces of the children are beautiful....just think how there were affected by the peace marchers !
....I would like to think that those kids will grow up to be peacemakers not war makers,
Thank you beautiful people... for the inspiration,
peace,MJ
