13 arrested in Anti-War Resistance
Students march ans sit-in, blocking traffic to protest the Iraq war.

About 30 people, mostly youth, gathered in front of the Army Recruiting Station which was closed after a school walk-out. We decided to march to downtown, taking a lane of traffic on Washington and chanting energetically. We danced in the intersection of Petaluma Blvd and Washington, and decided it was ours to be occupied! 11 kids sat in, bringing all of the on-duty police force and the Sonoma Cuunty Sherriffs. 3 blocks of traffic were re-directed, and a crowd gathered. An older woman was arrested as she tried to give the protesters water. Another young adult was also arrested for "interfering."
The 5 adults are out on bail. We need your support. We'd like to request monetary support! Please email the People's Revolutionary Organization of Sonoma County at prosonoma [at] yahoo.com

A fyi: recruitment offices are frequently closed when you plan to protest 'em. In Santa Cruz in 2003, protesters shut the recruitment office down for 3 straight days before getting arrested. This is a tactic we can use.. especially if you're looking for arrests but want something strategic.
what are the politics of the peoples revolutionary organization?
YOU DID IT!!!! Good job people, the war's over and all the troops are coming home!!!!
Actually, Mookie did it. The US attack on Sadr today essentialy is the beginning of the end and there will be no way for the US to keep its full number of forces in Iraq if Sistani backs him up (which he may have to given the details of the incident)
the Peoples Revolutionary Organization seeks to form a coalition of activists all across the leftist spectrum, excepting democrats and occassionally Maoists or otherwise Stalin-sympathizers. we are non-sectarian and non-hierarchal. our group is democratic, so whatever political ideology you affiliate with will be represented in group decisions. we have caught alot of criticism from all sides of the activist left. we are accused of being commies (because of the name), and we are criticized for being anarchists (because currently the group is predominately anarchist). also, we are thoroughly critiqued by the liberal left in our community because we challenge their ineffective methods, and occassionally classist and racist ideologies. we are pro-democracy and anticapitalist. we are hoping to build a militant, radical movement, modeled off groups such as the black panthers, brown berets, zapatista national liberation army, etc., which can transcend tradional American left stigmas such as "nonviolence" and reformism, and inspire the youth to be on the frontlines of the struggle to develop a society free of domination and inequality. we focus primarily on antiwar, farmworker, and youth issues, although we dabble in other arenas (critical mass, vegan outreach, anti-sweatshop stuff,etc.). if you'd like a copy of our ten-point platform and mission statement, please send us an email. also, if you have any questions, criticisms, ideas, etc. please let us know.
