BAYAN-USA northern California Region encourages the concerned community to add this event to your calendar:
Warm greetings to you all!
With the current political situation in the Philippines, many of our
brothers and sisters in the homeland have been greatly affected by the
fascist Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo administration.
Also, the current political climate in the Philippines coupled with
historical events has had a major influence in, specifically, the women
of the Philippines. Many of the factors leading up to the recent
undeclared Martial Law, has also contribute to the wide sex-trafficking
of Filipino women, exploitation of Filipino domestic workers and the
rampant prostitution of Filipino women in the Philippines.
Here, in the belly of the beast, many of us have been struggling to
understand the most recent events and their impact on both, the
Philippine people and Filipinos in America, especially the women, our
sisters.
To begin to have a community conversation about this,
babae invites you to a
