Battle from the Margins
Film & Video Screening curated by Madeleine Lim

Wed March 8, 2006, $5-15/sliding scale - 7pm

Queer women of color battle injustice on multiple fronts - body, family, home, community and history. These short documentaries explore the emotional, symbolic and daily battleground of race with compelling honesty and witty complexity. From the deep earth tones of ancestral history through the eyes of an Afro-Boricua, to the luminous hues of home as rediscovered in the Phillipines, to the saturated plume of American Indian portraits - this spectrum of films is a rallying call for social justice. All works are created through Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project.
