Announcing a benefit for Anarchy: A Journal of Desire Armed. In the hopes of opening up a broader conversation about the architecture of our industrial propaganda industry we are proud to present a café night event and movie.
Where: The Long Haul 3124 Shattuck Ave. Berkeley Ca
When: Sunday February 19th 7pm - 9 pm. The movie will start at 8.
We will be feeding you from a broad pallet of starch and vegetable matter combinations and we will be showing part I (Happiness Machines) of a documentary film by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Curtis\">Adam Curtis titled http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Century_Of_The_Self\">\'The Century of the Self\' about the rise of the public relations industry through the nephew of Sigmund Freud Edward Bernays. Adam Curtis is best known for his fascinating documentary series - the Power of Nightmare. Come see the first of an earlier series by him on the beginning of propaganda and object fetishism as we know it today.
