Jane Midgley presents her new book...
Women and the US Budget: Where the Money Goes and What You Can Do About It
The national budget represents the common resources of the people of the United States. Yet only a handful of experts understand the full impact of budget policy on the American people. Since women comprise just a fraction of national decision-makers, women's needs and perspectives are largely left out of budget policy – a critical absence in our current era of rising deficits, increasing military and security budgets, and cutbacks in public investment.
_Women and the US Budget_ is a crash course in budget literacy for women and everyone who wants to understand and transform the use of our nation's common resources, as well as a tool for advocacy and action.
Jane Midgley is a public policy analyst and the Director of Strategies for Success. She has twenty years of experience as a non-profit leader and manager, including as Legislative Director and as Executive Director of the Womens International League for Peace and Freedom (US Section). She is also on the Board of Directors of the Jane Addams Peace Association.
Copies of _Women and the US Budget_ will be available for purchase and signing.
Free and open to the public (donations welcome). Sponsored by Peninsula Peace and Justice Center and Womens International League for Peace and Freedom - Peninsula Branch.
