by Wrapping himself in King's legacy sucks
Don't be fooled by Gore's silver tongue.

When the chips are down-- his silver tongue ceases and he backs down.

Note: how Gore makes a big point of recognizing Dianne Feinstein. She needs to go.

It is clear: the Democrats are beginning to draw their wagons because they face huge losses in coming elections-- Americans will no longer vote for or support any of those who proposed and crafted the "Patriot Acts"-- and our officially sanctioned mayhem and tragedy that is an illegal, criminal, and lied about war in Iraq.

When you listen to Gore-- ask why he looks to Alberto Gonzalez as a key to appointing an independent investigation. Gonzalez (a torture defender) has no credibility-- except among those, Democrats and Republicans, that approved and approve of him. Gore knows that Gonzalez will do nothing-- the Democrats can frame themselves as the good guys-- take back a few seats in Congress and the States-- but insure that the oligarchic status quo remains.

Gore's silver tongue is a paid-for tongue. He has mastered "progressive talk" and "framing"-- while actually protecting the status quo.

Gore supports the war on Terror and the National insecurity state-- he wants to protect the rule of law so long as it protects the Democrat-GOP duoploly.

How ludicrous that Gore has been appointed as official bible-thumper about law, civil liberties, etc.-- when he gave Bush the presidency in 2000 because he thought the law meant keeping voters down and giving Justice Scalia power.

Note how Gore emphasizes the two party status quo-- no mention of independents, Greens, etc.-- who led the fight for protecting the Constitution in all these years.

There will be many who will be lulled and comforted by Gore's silver tongue-- he can at least claim now that he is no longer boring. He neglects to mention (as Gonzalez and the Republicans can do so glibly in their defense) that Democrats also have committed acts of eavesdropping etc. FISA-- long ago gave up on recommendations of the Church Commission in the wake of scandals in the ever bloated U.S. intelligence community. It rubber stamped approvals for virtually ALL of God know's what in American's name.

This is indeed a rant.

Basic message: Gore is one to talk! I won't be fooled any longer. Our government has no credibility. It is time to sweep it clean of all protectors of the status quo that has already given us a rogue government whose laws keep the people from excercising their votes.

Ask yourself when you listen to Gore-- what he leaves out, and what he emphasizes.

He emphasizes how the President has inherent and ultimate power in crisis-- while talking about checks and balances-- how can he have it both ways?
by seeing through lies
Werther sees through the cant, deceptions and lies in a clear way that is alien to all our current leaders in washington.

Read "The Liberties of the Subject"
at Counterpunch:
by he works for Google
Freedom and the Internet?

notice how Gore tacks on his "keep the internet free" spiel at the end-- free for whom?

Gore is tied up with Google, and Apple etc. and has his own network now.

Sure he wants freedom-- good for business.

But do those companies promote freedo?

Seems like they are far from perfect: Google like Yahoo-- making deals to keep access in countries that are not free.

Apple-- making sure software stays proprietary and expensive.
