Commemorate both those who gave their lives and those who put their lives on the line for peace & justice during the US backed war in El Salvador! Learn how the US now wages economic war on the people of Central America. Best of all, start the New Year grooving to stellar local poets and musicians including: KING PENGUIN QUARTET Up and coming East Bay natives with a highly danceable sound-fusion of jazz, fund and rock ‘n roll. HOLY SOULS This gritty rock ‘n roll band has formed a big following playing at venues all over the Bay including the Hotel Utah, the Green Tortoise, Lane Splitters, and Blake’s. (& they have the fans to prove it!) JAHKUUMBA The mission of this North Bay politico reggae band’s music is to be a sounding board for human rights. COLORED INK Spoken word by San Francisco’s only hip-hop theater troop. And other great surprises! We're also looking for volunteers for the night of the event.
