Osama Bin O’Reilly comes to San Francisco!

by Ronald Reagan Home for the Criminally Insane
Bill O’Reilly, the talk show host who recently encouraged an Al Qaeda terrorist attack on the city of San Francisco will be making appearances at Union Square, North Beach and at Coit Tower on Friday, November 25th.
Press Release: November 23, 2005

When and Where:
Friday, November 25th
12:00- 1:00PM at Union Square Park (call cell for exact location)
2:00-2:45 on Columbus Avenue and Washington Sq. Park in North Beach
3:45pm at Coit Tower

What:
Bill O’Reilly, the talk show host who recently encouraged an Al Qaeda terrorist attack on the city of San Francisco will be making appearances at Union Square, North Beach and at Coit Tower on Friday, November 25th. O’Reilly will be played by a member of the San Francisco based political satire group the Ronald Reagan Home for the Criminally Insane and will be dressed as Osama Bin O’Reilly. O’Reilly will be carrying an enormous placard printed with his invitation to Al Qaeda,
“You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead!”
which will also be played over a loud speaker.

In coordination with this bit of street theater other members of the group will be encouraging people to help kick Bill O’Reilly out of San Francisco by filling out petitions to deny KNEW 910AM (home of O’Reilly’s Radio Factor in San Francisco) a broadcasting license.

Why:
On November 8th Bill O’Reilly issued this fatwa on his Radio Factor that airs in San Francisco on Clear Channel’s KNEW 910AM –
“And if Al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead.”

The license for KNEW 910AM is up for renewal on December 1st. Two organizations, the Media Alliance and the Youth Media Council, have filed formal petitions with the FCC asking that Clear Channel’s KNEW 910AM be denied a license due to their clear and consistent pattern of abuse of the public trust by routinely broadcasting anti-American hate speech over the public airwaves. A copy of this petition can be seen at http://www.media-alliance.org/

“If encouraging a terrorist attack on a major American city over our public airwaves is not grounds for losing a broadcasting license than what is? Personally, I’d feel a lot safer if O’Reilly’s broadcasting range was limited to a cell in Guantanamo Bay. However I’m afraid that this would constitute torture, or at least cruel and unusual punishment for the other detainees at Camp X-Ray that would be forced to listen to him,” said Jeff Grubler, of the San Francisco-based political satire group, the Ronald Reagan Home for the Criminally Insane.

Very funny. Better than wasting time on another ho-hum protest.

Better than sitting around eating leftovers too. But we should all be thankful he's coming to SF, afterall he's really trying so hard to reach out to liberals.

Just last week, via News Hounds, he said he thinks we should set a timetable for pulling out of Iraq. Wow---that realization isn't at all delayed.
