Civil Rights March and Protest at U.C. Regents meeting
The U.C. regents have come to vote for fee hikes, nuclear weapons contracts, and continuing the illegal ban on affirmative action. we were marching today and demanding the same things as we were over 300 years ago. which is justice and equal rights in education and opportunity to live in harmony and equality. we are marching for global justice.
November 17th UC Regents meeting is garrisoned like a fort, with metal baricades, overstaffed police officers checking all incoming students but of course not the rergents nor the Chancellor. IN the main entrance there were about a dozen armed policeman and baricades blocking the whoke perimeter. Who are they protecting?
The regents switched the day to vote on feehikes, a day ahead of time to surprise the students and ignore their concerns. Activists from the civil rights group B.A.M.N (by any means neccesary), S.T.A.N.D (students taking action now Darfur ), U.C.S.A (University of California Student Association ), the G.R.N (Global resistance network), and hundreds of other students from all over California came to the U.C regents meeting to make an expression and demand for equal rights for all students. Other atrocities that are going on involves the U.C regents and the Nuclear weapons Contracts. The Uc regents have investments with corporations who fund the government induced genocide in Darfur, Sudan....... and this has been goin on since the 1940's.
Look into these groups and take action with others and get involved!
