No Borders, No Racists!
We’re inviting the whole community to join us in a powerful protest
against the “Minuteman Project” rally and its racist leaders this Saturday at
the state capitol!
For months, the “Minuteman Project” has been harassing, threatening,
and arresting immigrants as they cross the U.S.-Mexico border in search of
a better life. The “Minutemen”, in complicity with the border patrol, police,
and other racist groups, are trying to increase the militarization of the
border. And they have the support of the governor, Arnold Schwareznegger.
Let’s put a stop to these neo-KuKluxKlansmen who are taking the
law into their own hands, and violating the rights of others!
Stop the “Minutemen!”
No to
Fascism &
Racism!
Human
Rights
for All!

atacan a nuestra gente!

"The U.S. is a nation of laws. Respect for the rule of law is what makes Western Civilization possible, and what makes America so great. If Mexico, Central and South America had this same respect, they wouldn't be Third World countries full of illiterate peasants who are now ruining what our ancestors worked so hard to build. If these illegal aliens are such noble hard workers, why can't they pull their own countries out of the gutter?

This statement is a complete and total lie by a racist that has no knowledge of history.

First, the notion that the U.S. is a "nation of laws" has little basis in fact.
Actually, the U.S. has violated virtually every international law possible in its past illegal interventions throughout the world and has become an international pariah in its current war in Iraq and Afghanistan. The wonderful book "Rogue State" by William Blum documents how the U.S. has violated the Geneva Convention and the U.N. charter in hundreds of instances.

Second, the Bush administration has ruthlessly attacked our Constitution and Bill of Rights through the Patriot Act and Patriot Act 2, discarding the First Amendment in its zeal to further militarize the National Security State. Like Germany under Hitler, suspected "terrorists" are locked up in jail without charges and tortured to elicit confessions.

There are thousands of people, including citizens, locked up in our jails and Guatanamo. As as Michael Parenti so brilliantly pointed out in his book, "Blackshirts and Reds" the population of people in U.S. prisons now vastly exceeds those held in prison or camps during the height of Stalin's repressive regime!

You have obviously not traveled out of the country like I have. It is in fact in Latin America where you actually find Western civilization and the rule of law, now that democratically elected leftist governments have come to power. There is more democracy in Venezuela under Hugo Chavez now than there has ever been in the U.S. Likewise, Costa Rica, with no army, has a much more free and democratic society than the U.S.

You blame immigrants and their societies for the current wave of immigation to the U.S., but the real reasons why they have been forced to leave are (1) U.S. corporate exploitation and destruction of their economies, like has occurred in Mexico (2) the wave of genocidal terror engineered by the U.S. military and the CIA in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.

In Guatemala alone, a U.S.-instigated war of genocide against the Mayan population resulted in over 200,000 deaths documented by the UN Human Rights Commission. These people have been driven off their land by U.S. imperialism - and the U.S. should be forced to pay reparations to these countries, as well as accepting all immigrants.

On the other hand, the war criminal scum - Oliver North and Elliot Abrams, for example - responsible for these atrocities in the Reagan and Poppy Bush administrations should be brought to justice before an international war crimes tribunal. Furthermore, fascist Bush-ites like yourself, who are complicit with their crimes by voting for them and supporting them, must be denounced and exposed by human rights activists and real supporters of democracy.

We need to deport racist minutemen and let immigrants, the victims of U.S. wars and economic imperialism, come to the U.S.unfettered.They have a right to be here, while racist jerks like yourself should leave this country.

Actually, the "illiterate peasants" you describe are much more literate and savvy about politics than some right wing knuckle dragger like yourself, who is mired in functional illiteracy and corporate media disinformation.

To pull yourself out of the gutter of racist Bush-ites, I have three suggestions:

1. Take a literacy course!

2. Go read a book - preferably by William Blum, Michael Parenti or Noam Chomsky!

3. Get off this and other boards until you do so!

by until then, Minutemen remain Bushite cowards
The Minutemen are the ones wasting their energy by scapegoating immigrants. If BorderRaven suggests that immigrants rights activists protest at corporations profiting from exploiting undocumented immigrant labor, then this same statement also applies to the Minutemen. The source of undocumented immigration is economic neccessity caused by class inequality in Sur America, a small wealthy minority of landowners and a vast majority of impoverished campesinos. Ironically the wealthy landowners are leasing their land for cattle ranching (exported to McDonalds, etc.) or timber harvesting, a great deal of this land was previously tropical rainforest or altiplano savannah and indigenous campesinos could live in and grow nutritionally diverse crops before colonialism and export plantation monoculture crops, timber clearcuts, etc..

Landless Peasants Movement;

http://www.mstbrazil.org/

Now economic inequality is bringing people to el norte for jobs and a possible future denied in their home country. If Vincentes Fox would give Mexican campesinos the chance for real community autonomy, then maybe less people would be coerced into migrating north for plantation labor. Maybe the Minutemen could protest the Mexican military in the village of Tlalnepantla, Morelos where the indigenous villagers voted for autonomy and were met with violencia by the Mexican military goon squad. Tlalnepantla is home to the nopales cactus, a drought tolerent food source. If villagers had autonomy, maybe the nopales would be incentive for them to remain in their homeland. However, the Mexican government under WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA, PPP, etc. globalization free trade agreements is not giving the villagers of Tlalnepantla a fair chance to prosper from their labor and nopales. This scenario is repeated in many other villages and cities throughout Sur America, the repeated theme is the impoverished landless masses and ecosystem biodiversity suffers so a few wealthy capitalists can benefit for a short time..

Tlalnepantla Declares Autonomy; Mexican Government Reacts;

http://www.agrnews.org/issues/263/

Near the border town San Luis Rio Colorado, the Rio Colorado slows to a near trickle of run-off from agribusiness plantations in the north (Imperial Valley, CA). The indigenous village of the Cocapa is located near the Rio Colorado delta town El Golfo de Santa Clara. Over the last few decades of dams and water diversions on Rio Colorado the delta has witnessed a steady decline in fish and mollusc biodiversity from lack of transported sediments and quality fresh agua. The salinity of the delta has increased and the sealife disappears..

"The historic Delta was home to Cucapa or “people of the river.” They inhabited the Delta for nearly a thousand years and used the Delta floodplain to harvest Palmer’s saltgrass (a wild grain), and cultivate corn, beans, squash."

Moving Waters; The Colorado River and the West;

http://www.azhumanities.org/movingwaters/faq.html

The Cucapa lived and thrived near the Rio Colorado delta for thousands of years on the bounty supplied by the river, now they risk loss of culture and home from the forced assimilation into the maquiladora sweatshops. Many other indigenous Mexicans are in the same predicament as they are forced off their native landspace into sweatshop labor or forced migrations for labor in the agribusiness plantations of el norte, the same corporations stealing the rio agua that caused the economic and ecological depression in the first place!!

Maquiladora (sweatshops) along the border are another issue. The only union for maquiladora workers is the outdated and ineffective PRI union, organizing workers outside the PRI is practically illegal and potentially deadly..

"Back in control of the factory was its longtime union, loyal to the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), which had lost the nation's presidency last year. The union had opposed the strike and encouraged management to sack the dissident workers. So it goes in several high-profile labor conflicts in the maquiladoras, as Mexico's assembly plants are known. President Vicente Fox, who defeated the PRI last year with promises to dismantle its corrupt machine, appears to have turned a blind eye to one of its central cogs -- labor unions, which have long exercised iron-fisted control over Mexico's industrial workers."

"Business as Usual; Mexico's President (Fox) Ignores Old-style Labor Repression"

http://www.globalexchange.org/campaigns/sweatshops/nike/sfchron071901.html

Over 400 maquiladora women workers were discovered murdered in the desert outside of Ciudad Juarez, the femicides remain unsolved. Ciudad Juarez is home to a large concentration of maquiladora sweatshops and indigenous female workers..

"For more than a decade, the cities of Chihuahua and Juarez, near the US-Mexico border, have been killing fields for young women, the site of over 400 unsolved femicides. Despite the horrific nature of these crimes, authorities at all levels exhibit indifference, and there is strong evidence that some officials may be involved. Impunity and corruption has permitted the criminals, whoever they are, to continue committing these acts, knowing there will be no consequences.

A significant number of victims work in the maquiladora sector - sweatshops that produce for export with 90% destined for the United States. The maquiladoras employ mainly young women at poverty level wages. In combination with lax environmental regulations and low tariffs under the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the maquiladoras are amassing tremendous wealth. Yet despite the crime wave, they offer almost no protection for their workers. High profile government campaigns such as Ponte Vista (Be Aware), a self defense program, and supplying women with whistles have been ineffective and are carried out mainly for public relations purposes."

http://www.mexicosolidarity.org/Juarez%20and%20Chihuahua/

So really the Minutemen need to be honest with the sources of the problems. Scapegoating undocumented immigrants is a cowardly act and that may be the reason they are disliked by many people besides their wealthy supporters on the far right politcal spectrum, like fascist Austrian immigrant Arnold the Nazi Actor who praised the Minutemen from his high chair throne in Sacramento..

Until the Minutemen challenge the source of economic inequality from the continuing effects of imperialism and colonialism, they will remain cowards in my book. To overthrow the illegitimate political usurpers both in Washington DC (Bush regime) and Mexico City (V. Fox regime), we will need solidarity and mutual organizing between the people of el norte and el sur. No more divisiveness and scapegoating of immigrants, por favor..

Let whoever comes here through the equal of Ellis Island.

Since you're so brilliant, how many can your house hold before the walls burst or the floor caves in? Are you stupid enough to stand there and watch, drool running from your chin, while they keep coming and coming?

by Real Revolutionary
Immigrants are our brothers and sisters and have a right to be here. On the other hand, racist jerks and supporters of illegal wars and genocide like you and your Minutemen/Schwarzenegger buddies should be deported. Your the ones that don't belong here; the only place you would feel home is in Nazi Germany, circa 1933-1945.
I was a member of the Minutemen (MM) demonstration yesterday in Sacramento on the capitol steps. Here are my observations:

* The MM had intelligent speakers who spoke without hate against any people except smugglers (coyotes and drug-runners) and certain politicians.

* The counter-protesters (CP) totally failed in their attempts to disrupt the MM demonstration. Although one MM speaker paused briefly to listen to the CP and watch a confrontation between the CP and the California Highway Patrol officers working the scene, the audience quickly insisted that he continue speaking and he did. The MM group acknowledged the CP group by waving their signs at them and video-taping them.

* The Counter-Protesters who marched around and tried to disrupt the MM gathering really looked like a messed up crowd of people. For one thing many of them - including a majority of those at the head of the march hid their faces behind bandanas hiked up over the tops of their noses. For another thing many of them marched around while making obscene hand gestures at the MM. Lastly the CP people apparently wanted to create a violent situation by rushing the MM on the capitol steps (perhaps because their bullhorns and chanting had failed to halt the MM rally) despite orders from the CHP to stay back. Apparently in the world the CP envision freedom of speech will be limited to those whose speech marked by 'correct thinking'.

* My estimate of the numbers in each group was they were roughly equal sized at 2-3 hundred each.

Why would people follow leaders in the CP group that hid their faces? Are they (the leaders) wanted for crimes of violence or something?

I have posted several times asking the simple question of why the author considers the minutemen to be facists. Everytime I do so, the post disappears. So I ask again, why do you consider the minutemen to be facists?
by er, "Bob"
it is spelled fascists

F - A - S - C - I - S - T

not "facist"-- thiat might be someone who believes in faces.

learn to spell it, idiot, and maybe someone will hold your hand and explain it to you. maybe not, maybe you've been a bad boy and should be sent to your room without supper.

no borders, no immigrants!

Immigration is such a white concept, let's leave it at that.

the sfbay is ohlone land -- and if someone can't stand the "indian" ways then beat it, scram.

I see a Mayflower coming, there's your chance.

Thanks for that thoughtful response. I am a little strapped on cash this month as I am buying another half million dollar home. But, given your nice response, I'll send a few hundred to the minutemen to buy better IR devices and bullets.

To bad you can't make any money at your job. No, I don't want fries with that.

Could not answer the question, could you. You are just another lib yelling fascist.

The reason we have bandannas is because police regularly photograph people at protests, and harass them. It grows out of the autonomen traditions, as well as those of the EZLN in Mexico. It is also symbolic in the way that we could be anyone, that we stand up for all those who have no face to the rest of the world.

"I'll send a few hundred to the minutemen to buy better IR devices and bullets."

As a MM supporter I want to say this comment is counter-productive. Obviously the IR devices are wonderful and have helped us report hundreds of illegals to the CBP. But to inform the ignorant - the MM don't all have guns and those with weapons don't draw them unless threatened. I personally know of no shots being fired - but it may have happened somewhere. With nearly 800 assaults on CBP agents so far this year along the border going there without protection would be nuts. So donations are not needed for bullets.

Thanks for the explanation - please keep it up! And while you are at it you might want to contact the Guiness Book of Records and arrange for them to send someone to certify your having dug the the world's biggest biggest political grave ever with those bandanas.

Oh, that's why i was pulled over -- it wasn't my expired registration tag, or broken taillight, it was because "they" photographed me at the peace protest last year. Dangit, i should have pulled my tinfoil hat down more.

In other news: I'm starting a business selling tinfoil hats with bandanas pre-attached. no assy required
