ITVS Community Cinema: Special Preview Screening of RACE IS THE PLACE
RACE IS THE PLACE is a new documentary that explores racism in the media through the eyes of artists, poets, and musicians. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring guest speakers from prominent bay area organizations working on issues of race and media and will also include performances by Youth Speaks.
Speakers include:
Raymond Telles & Rick Tejada-Flores, RACE IS THE PLACE Filmmakers
Kevin Weston, Editor, Yo! Youth Outlook Magazine, New California Media
Jakada Imani, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights
Nicole Sawaya, KALW Information Radio
Event sponsors: ITVS COMMUNITY CINEMA, KQED Community Outreach (a part of the Bay Area Mosaic Project) and the San Francisco Public Library in co-sponsorship with JUST THINK, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture and New California Media and Youth
