Marsha Feinland, the Peace and Freedom Party candidate for U.S. Senate, will appear at Fresno State on the evening of November 12th. This free event - sponsored by the Campus Peace and Civil Liberties Coalition - will take place at University Center, Room 200. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. The program will begin at 7:30. The topic of Marsha's speech will be "Hurricanes, Wars and No Health Care: How capitalism doesn't work."

Marsha Feinland, age 55, has a B.A. in history and an M.S. in education.

Since 1969 she has taught at levels from pre-school through community college, including a job as director of the Hoopa Tribal Day Care Center. While teaching in Oakland Children's Centers and as an elementary school teacher in Alameda, Feinland has been a union activist.

Feinland is a member of the State Central Committee of the Peace & Freedom Party. She was elected in 1994 to the Berkeley Rent Stabilization Board as part of a pro-tenant slate.
